About us
Sidewalk Express is the leading chain of Internet Points in Northern Europe. We ensure that it is easy and cheap to use the Internet when you are away from home. Our Internet Points are centrally situated in airports, railway stations, shopping malls, cafés and convenience stores. More than 3 million people surf at Sidewalk Express every year. We are one of the most experienced operators in the sector, and we have developed a unique concept where the customer can use his/her ticket freely throughout the chain. Today we have Internet Points all over Scandinavia, and we have sales offices in both Germany and Great Britain.

Many people believe that the demand for public Internet Points is decreasing because most people have access to the Internet at home, at work or at school. That is not the case. A considerable need exists, which is expected to increase. Who wants to wait to read their mail, check that their flight is departing on time or see if they have had any interesting nibbles on their dating site, if they do not have to? It would be like waiting for a coffee simply because you have a coffee machine at home in the kitchen.

Concept
The Sidewalk Express concept is based on three supporting pillars. It is user friendly. Our service consists of providing computers connected to the Internet with a keyboard and mouse, in a pleasant environment where you sit in comfort. Anyone who has ever used a computer will feel at home. You simply purchase your surfing ticket at the till at well-known partners such as 7-Eleven and McDonald’s or in our red automatic ticket machines. You can also request a surfing code via SMS. The ticket is valid for 7 days at all Sidewalk Express Internet Points.
We always keep low prices, so not even

the most price-conscious customer will hesitate to surf at Sidewalk Express Internet Points. Our computers should be used. That is more important than anything else.
The third pillar is accessibility. We always establish our outlets in central locations with a lot of people on the move. This is possible through a combination of our own outlets and Internet Points operated in conjunction with partners such as 7-Eleven and McDonald’s. We have generous opening hours, and many of our Internet Points are open around the clock.

The route to success
Sidewalk Express was founded in 2001. The idea behind Sidewalk Express took form during a business trip. The company's current MD discovered that Internet Cafés were popular throughout Europe. It was a fragmented sector, however, with many small operators. Back home in Sweden, the idea developed into a chain concept with Internet Points.

The first outlet was opened, and is still operating, in Sky City at Stockholm's Arlanda airport. Initially, the founders themselves looked after everything from installation, ticket sales and business development. Today's concept with automatic ticket machines and unmanned outlets was a solution that emerged as they took it in turn to look after the till and serve customers for long 12-hour shifts. Today Sidewalk Express is based on a fully automated concept which permits rapid expansion while maintaining efficiency and a slimmed-down central organization.
